What to expect from them.
Hello Everyone,
Every buy a car on Ebay and want to have it shipped to you? Are you moving and need to have your car shipped to your new residence? Do you fly south for the winter and need to have your car shipped? If so, then you will probably look for an auto transport company to take care of this job. I purchased a car on Ebay and needed to have it shipped to me. So, searching the web for information on this provided me with many companies to use but littel knowledge on how they operate. Receiving many different quotes from companies I finally decided on using AAAdvantage Auto Transport, their website is at www.carmoves.com . Their site is great. Unfortunatley it does NOT provide you with the facts. Their site says that most cars will be delivered in 7-14 days once its scheduled. What they don't tell you is that it takes 2 moths to get it scheduled!!!! I contracted with them on May 3, 2004. It is now May 24th and my car still has not been scheduled for shipment. I call them almost every day to check the status. Their response is always the same, "it should be scheduled within the next 3 - 5 days". Here is their last response to an e-mail I sent:
"We apologize the transport is taking longer than expected. Dispatch is working on finding a carrier with an open spot that runs the FL to PA route. As soon as they have one, we will have dates for you.

I selected this company because they claim to have their own fleet of trucks. The truth is that they sub-contract most of their work.
I will NEVER use this company again and strongly recomend that you don't either. If you need to use a trucking company to move your car, get the pickup and delivery dates in writting BEFORE you pay them a cent.
Well here it is now the 27th of May and still nothing. I've sent them 2 e-mails and at this point they are not even responding to them at all.
Here was my last e-mail to them on 5-27-04:
I would like to know what your current backlog is and approximately when I can expect you to ship my car.
Here was their response:
We apologize the transport is taking longer than anticipated. Dispatch is continuing to work on the truck assignment. We do not have dates as of yet.

This is the same answer I've had for the last month. Nice and courteous, but with absolutely no information.
Well, I was very excited to find out that my car was scheduled to ship on 6-1 and should arrive by 6-7. However, when I checked the site today they are now saying that the car will ship on 6-4 and should be here by 6-10. More of the same crap from this company.
Well here it is June 7th. Called Carmoves.com aka AA Advantage Auto Transport again today and they can't even tell me where my car is. That's great!!! Beat me with a 2x4, it would be less painfull.
Today is June 14th. My car was to be delivered on the 10th. Still no car!!!!! I call and send e-mails and yet they still cannot give me any information. They don't have a clue where my car is or when it will be delivered.
